Forward Deployed Engineer · Ottawa, Canada

From ambiguous problem
to deployed system.

I'm Rahim Iqbal, a Forward Deployed Engineer who works between customers, product, and engineering. I turn unclear operating needs into systems that can be shipped, tested, and improved—from consumer products and ecommerce workflows to robotics and factory automation.

What this has looked like

At Rolu Labs, I work from client discovery through launch and iteration. At Amazon Robotics and Tesla, I worked around production, deployment, and field constraints. Across those settings, the job has been to understand what is actually blocking an outcome and organize the technical work needed to change it.

  • Spend time where the system is being used.
  • Translate a business or operational constraint into a buildable scope.
  • Move between customer conversations, product decisions, and technical details.
  • Own the loop through launch, feedback, and the next iteration.
